Hello all!
I'm glad you joined me for yesterday's broadcast at 5pm EST on the topic of the documentary "Miss Representation."
"Miss Representation" is a documentary that was written, produced, and narrated by Jennifer Siebel Newsom, whose name I could not remember on yesterday's show. The documentary first aired on television on the OWN Oprah Winfrey Network the week of October 16th 2011.
If you'd like to catch the documentary check your local listings of the OWN channel to see when it's coming on again, invite some your besties and have a screening and a discussion forum afterwards. Make a party of it.
This documentary is all about how girls and women are misrepresented in the media - all types of media - music, videos, movies, news, television shows, and politics. Check it the site. Click HERE.
It expressed views from a diverse group teenage girls and boys and women - well-known and general public. I shared my favorite touching moments from the documentary on the radio show.
I also talked about the importance of communication about our feelings as women and particularly, listening to the teenage girls around you and pay attention to what they really saying through their behaviors and attitudes.
Open lines of communication is the key here.
Check out the broadcast in the archives on this site or click HERE.
Join me next Tuesday 11/22/11 for the topic "What is Feminism?". I will share my thoughts and resources on feminism and why I think it's important to embrace this philosophy nowadays.
Many blessings to you all!
Remember - Socrates said, "An unexamined life is not worth living." Talk about your experiences, share your life with others, and listen to what others are saying to you.
Peace & blessings!

Fatherless Children
Tonight I was joined by Charles Fox, who discussed with me a very important topic, "Fatherless Children."
While we did not go over lots of statistics, in his line of work, Charles deals with young people daily. He has seen firsthand the affects of young people who grow up without a father in the home.
One thing we discussed is how angry our young people seem to be and perhaps, they do not know why.
We touched on how our relationships with our parents, or lack thereof, seems to shape our relationships with ourselves and with others throughout lives for better or for worse.
While I did not advocate blaming the parents, I do feel that our relationships with our parents are key in our how develop our self-worth, including self-respect and self-love.
We also discussed how important it is for young girls and young women to have a positive male role model in their lives if they did not grow up with a father in the home. We tend to discuss the male issues, but females go through their own set of issues as a result of having a healthy relationship with their fathers or any males.
Charles also mentioned that fatherless children is issue in many communities.
I shared my own personal experiences with having a stepfather in the home but this didn't mean he was there mentally and emotionally. We both agreed that this is an interesting dynamic in the home as well.
Needless to say, Charles and I had a very passionate and heartfelt discussion on this topic. I certainly encourage you to check it out in the archives. You can click on the Soul SiSTARS Radio link above to listen to the media player there or visit http://www.blogtalkradio.com/soulsistars.
Next week, we'll be back at our regular time of 9am EST on Thursday, October 13th. I will be doing a show called Creative Flow, which will include some fun ideas and tips for creative writers.
Thank you for listening to Soul SiSTARS! Jennifer and I appreciate your support and positive energy.
Peace & many blessings!

Third Eye Chakra & the 4 Clairs
On Thursday (8/25/11) night's show, I talked about the third eye and the 4 clairs - clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, and claircognizance.
The third eye chakra is located between your two physical eyes. It's color association is indigo and it is the seat of intuition, insight, and even physically helps with your eyes, face, sinuses, and ears.
To help clear and balance this chakra, you can chant, OM (aum). Check out the broadcast to hear me demonstrate it.
I enjoyed discussing the 4 clairs:
Intuitively yours,
Tameko

Divine Feminine & the Sacral Chakra
Hello everyone! Jennifer and I just completed part 2 of the Yin/Yang and Divine Feminine energies series a few moments ago on Blog Talk Radio. We had a blast!
We shared information on the Sacral Chakra, which is located between the navel and base of the spine or groin area. The color of it is orange. It spins in a clockwise motion when it is balanced. So naturally you should visualize your sacral chakra spinning. The Sacral Chakra is associated with the Earth element, which is also a part of the Yin energies that we discussed on Thursday night's show as well. So it is associated with feminine energies/qualities/aspects.
As for the Divine Feminine, we had a wonderful time talking about Mother Earth (Gaia) and how she needs our love and attention. There is nothing wrong with revering the Earth and all of nature. Heal the Earth, we Heal ourSelves.
We discussed the Triple Goddess, which is the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. This triple deity or Feminine Holy Trinity represents the cycle of life as well as the cycle of the moon.
Maiden - Birth - Waxing Moon
Mother - Life - Full Moon
Crone - Death/Rebirth - Waning Moon
By honoring Goddesses or Female Deities, we are honoring that part of ourselves that embodies those same qualities. Thus, we heighten our divine feminine energies, which can heal the world.
We talked about how particularly women of color and women in general are in need of embracing their feminine qualities and energies.
Some suggestions for embracing the Divine Feminine:
Bellydancing
Chakra Clearing (Sacral Chakra)
Yin Yoga
For further study & research:
Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue
Crystalinks - http://www.crystalinks.com and search for Triple Goddess or Goddess
You can simply Google, Bing, or Yahoo - Yin/Yang, Divine Feminine, Triple Goddess, Sacral Chakra and you will find youreslf in the midst of a plethora of information.
Join us next week on 8/11/11 @ 11pm EST for our show called, "Breaking Out of the Cocoon." This is a show you don't want to miss as we will be discussing true FREEDOM.
Peace & blessings!

Soul Guidance
I made a last minute change to tonight's show from "Natural Hair Care" to "Soul Guidance." Jennifer wasn't feeling well, so I hosted the show with impromptu soul guidance.
A brief recap of what came through as I channelled information:
Be sure to send questions to Jennifer and I for more Soul Guidance for future shows. Next week's show is another 2-parter on "Yin/Yang Energies & the Divine Feminine" Thursday 8/4 @ 11pm and Friday 8/5 @ 11pm EST.
Thank you for tuning in!
Blessings!
A brief recap of what came through as I channelled information:
- The mind is the soul. The soul is the mind.
- At some point in our lives we question life with questions such as "Why me?" "What's going on with my life?"
- I have discovered that these questions are keys that unlock the journey of self-discovery to our higher consciousness.
- Shifting consciousness from sleep to awake, from unaware to aware.
- Be sure to document your journey through digital media or writing. But especially, through writing with pen and notebook.

Our Solar Plexus & Throat Chakras Show
So this week Tameko and I talked about the Throat chakra and the Solar Plexus chakra. We picked these two chakras because we each have had issues with them. I have had issues with healing my throat chakra (speaking my truth, allowing my feelings to show, expressing myself-creatively, and staying true to myself) and Tameko has had issues with healing her Solar Plexus Chakra (nurturing/honoring herself and not giving so much of herself to others).
We opened it up by discussing the imbalanced and balanced archetypes for each. For the Solar Plexus, the imbalanced archetype is the Servant where the person does not honor themselves and doesn't realize they deserve better than what they are experiencing. When balanced, the archetype turns into the Warrior. For the Throat Chakra, the imbalanced archetype is called the Silent Child where the person holds back from speaking their truth or showing their emotions. When balanced, this is the Communicator archetype.
Tameko went through brief descriptions for each chakra. Like how the Solar Plexus is symbolized by the color yellow and Earth element. It deals with power, anger, confidence, and self esteem issues. Health issues when imbalanced could be diabetes, stomach ulcers, or increased belly weight to name a few. For the Throat chakra, it is symbolized by the color blue and is related to the ear chakras and the sound element. This is all about creativity, self expression, speaking our truth, and honesty. Some health issues if imbalanced could be throat, neck, and thyroid problems.
Some of the tips we had for the Throat chakra were expressing yourself more: talking, writing, singing, video blogging, etc. Just allowing yourself to feel your feelings, and express however you are feeling or thinking to anyone around you. Truly communicating, by balancing talking and listening.
An interesting thing we found out was that each chakra we have issues with the most were related to our life path numbers in numerology (1 for Tameko and 3 for me). 1's deal with leadership, power, courage and 3's deal with self expression and creativity. So it would be interesting to look at your life path in numerology and see if it relates to the chakra(s) you have been healing. Take this fun chakra test I found to see which chakras are balanced or imbalanced. And here is a place where you can find out your life path number.
Tameko talked about her latest victory of going infront of the camera and singing for a few videos. Since she has loved to sing for such a long time and this is truly her passion. This helped her throat chakra AND solar plexus chakra with that courageous step. (yay Tameko! hehe) It's intereting how connected the chakras really are.
Tameko is going to do another blog entry with some more tips she shared Thursday in healing the throat and solar plexus chakras since this is definitely her expertise. So as I go make some tea for my throat right now (a little scratchy), lol! I am signing off with a video I did about a week ago on Staying True to You (a challenge) as I think this ties in really well with the chakra I have had the most trouble with (the throat).
Listen in next week on Thursday at 11 PM EST when we have our first guest and interview with Janet Darby on spreading the awareness of GMO's on our "The Truth About GMO's" show. If you want to be a guest on Soul SiSTARS e-mail us at soulsistarsradio@gmail.com. Also, follow us on twitter at @SoulSiSTARSbtr. : )

Being at a Crossroads in Life
This past Thursday's show was an amazing one. Jennifer and I talked about our personal journeys in regards to being at a crossroads in life. We offered several tips on how handle being at a crossroads in life.
*Honor where you are on the path.
*Don't resist it.
*Be gentle with yourself at the crossroads.
And these are just a few of the tips Jennifer and I shared on the show. We had such a great time sharing on this topic.

Our "Following Your Dreams" Show
So our second show was tonight. Well technically yesterday lol. And it was on Following Your Dreams. We experienced some technical difficulties as Blog Talk Radio switched up the technology on us lol, but we really had a great soulful conversation on following your dreams, heart, and passions!
This is a very important topic to Tameko and I because we feel as if we are in the process of letting go of fear and following our Divine Plan, our dreams, our heart, etc. And we feel as if this is so important for everyone to allow. We had so many discussions, just on the phone, about our personal experience with this. Where we feel as if sometimes when you seem to lose things, it is the Universe's way of opening you up to truly living a Life that resonates with your heart. It is a blessing in disguise and may seem confusing and scrambled, but everything happens for a reason. And when you look back a year from now to where you were now, you will be like "Ahh..I see now, the pieces were just all coming together."
Tameko and I decided to take on the topic at hand by sharing tips we came up with in regards to following you dreams. So Tameko started out with her first tip which was having courage. Being able to leave your comfort zone and face that fear. This tied into one of my points of using fear as guidance rather than running away from it or resisting it. To be able to feel the fear and do it anyways!
Then my next tip was letting go of comparisons. Because I personally have had trouble following my dreams because I have compared myself with other people and their life path and even comparing myself with myself in the past. Embracing your unique life path and living authentically takes courage, but it is crucial in following our dreams. This also requires us to let go of others' expectations and opinions of us and just do you! Tameko then brought up how she has felt herself comparing herself with others even in the spiritual community in regards to thinking to herself "Wow maybe I should be doing more than I am now." We both realized that where we are NOW is where we are "supposed" to be.
Tameko then went into her tip which was having Trust. Trusting that everything is working out and embracing the unknown. She mentioned that when you are so used to a certain routine and feeling as if you know what to expect, it can feel scary to let go of this and fully embrace the unknown. To let go of the past. I mentioned that letting go of the need for control is really important also. This transitioned me into my next tip which was surrendering and trusting in Life. I mentioned that when we fully trust and let the Universe handle the "how's," doors open where we once thought were walls. We are in alignment with the Universe now, when we have that courage to follow our hearts.
So I came up with another tip during the show and it was to let go of resistance. Sometimes we resist things because we fear change, but that fear is guiding us to delve deeper into our hearts. Resistance can keep us from following our dreams. But simply feel that resistance and allow it. It was funny because Tameko's last point tied into this too. And we also mentioned the importance of detaching from outcomes and remaining open to the endless possibilities. Tameko talked about how synchronicities happen all the time to help us in following our dreams. And to follow your inner guidance.
So we LOVED this discussion and next week's show is on Being at a Crossroads and we feel as if this is kind of like a Part 2 to Following Your Dreams since they can relate soo much! So we will be back to do that show next Thursday at 11 PM EST. : ) Also, if you want to write into us with any questions for our Soul Guidance feature, e-mail us at soulsistarsradio@gmail.com. We will answer your questions and then feature one answer LIVE on our show, anonymously and related to the show topic at hand. : ) So thank you for listening to Soul SiSTARS and checking out our blog!
